This policy explains what personal data TeachMeLike5 (“TML5”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and the choices and rights you have. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). In its terms, you are a Data Principal and we are a Data Fiduciary.

2.What personal data we collect

We keep collection to the minimum needed. Depending on how you use the site:

4.Withdrawing consent

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time — as easily as you gave it — by emailing hello@teachmelike5.com. Withdrawal doesn't affect processing that already happened lawfully, and we'll stop further processing within a reasonable time unless the law requires us to keep the data.

5.Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers (Data Processors) that help us run the site, under agreements that require them to protect it:

6.How long we keep it, and security

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected — for example, application data for the current hiring cycle — after which we delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data. If a personal-data breach occurs, we will act as required by the DPDP Act, including notifying the Data Protection Board of India and affected users.

8.Children

Our internship applications and account features are intended for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of a child (under 18) without verifiable parental or guardian consent, and we do not track children or serve them targeted advertising. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and resolve them within the timeframe prescribed under Indian law.

If your complaint isn't resolved, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India as provided under the DPDP Act.

10.Cookies

We use only what's necessary: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and your theme choice stored locally in your browser. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

11.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or the law changes. We'll revise the “last updated” date above, and for material changes we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you.

12.Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
